突然昇温 : sudden warming

今朝は成層圏の突然昇温を勉強する。

英訳勉強も兼ねて、自分なりに文章にまとめる。

In mid-winter, extra cold air locates around polar zone of northern hemisphere. Noctarnal polar vortex is formed by geostrophic equillibrium.

Planetary wave located in troposphere sometimes propagates toward stratosphere with increasing its scale. With this influence, noctarnal polar vortex decays and cold air flow into downward in mid-winter to early spring. Subsequently this leads to adiabatic temperature increase.

This is so-called sudden warming in stratosphere. In northern hemisphere, this warming sometimes reach to some dozen temperature.
